Cheetah Hunting at Dusk, Masai Mara, August 2006

The grass in August last year was still long in this area of the Masai Mara, and we searched hard to find this cheetah. Finally in the late afternoon he obligingly emerged onto an area of short grass and began to hunt Thompson's Gazelle. It was a magical end to the day as we watched him stalk across the setting sun, before heading back to the camp fire.
